About the Artist
Vanessa Gomez, is a Southern Californian artist from the desert community of Victorville. She formally began her art journey in 2008, receiving her A.S. in Computer Generated Design and Graphics in 2010 at Victor Valley College and B.F.A in Animation and Visual Effects in 2014 at the Academy of Art University.
She is a multi-disciplined artist who works in digital, acrylic, public arts, and tra-digital animation. Vanessa has officially been working as a muralist since 2022. She has various works throughout the Victor Valley High Desert including Victorville, Adelanto, Apple Valley, and Hesperia. Her work can also be seen in communities across the Inland Empire and California.
Vanessa enjoys encompassing her pieces with symbolic meanings exploring themes of inner growth, transformation, and local pride. She draws from her own experience and journey to changing her inner fears into action. As with individuals, each piece tells its own story that is unique and personal. Vanessa enjoys celebrating local spaces through animals, plants, history, and community. She explores a variety of styles utilizing vivid colors and flowing lines to create works that evoke inspiration and encourage curiosity.
